1. Ezra 1:1 and Jeremiah 29:10
   Point I - What God has prophesied will always come to pass.
2. Ezra 1:2, 3
   Heathen King making an appeal and a decree to build God's house.
   Point II - God used the most powerful man to furnish the means for the construction of the temple.
3. Ezra 4:4, 5 - Trouble / Adversaries
   The result - Ezra 4:24, 25.
   Point III - The Devil always seeks to obstruct kingdom builders.
4. How did God counteract this?
   Ezra 5:1, 2
   Point IV - God's prophets encourage builders.
5. 1. Opposition again (Ezra 5:3)
   2. Jews respond (Ezra 5:17)
6. God overrules (Ezra 6:1-3).
7. The next empire, Darius issues his own decree - Temple to be completed with materials supplied by Israel's Adversaries.
